Gracie was the foundation here at Hedgelawn. The first to carry the prefix Hedgelawn, she is the mom, great grandmom or great great grandma to most of the dogs that we are currently showing. Gracie was a true retriever, earning her Working Certificate and Junior Hunter titles easily and with great pleasure. She was owner trained and handled. The whelping box never held her back or slowed her down. She continued to thrill us in 2001 by earning the first leg toward a NAHRA title and making her conformation ring debut by winning the Hunting Retriever Bitch class and the Brood Bitch class at JSLRC specialty at Newton KC under respected English breeder/judge Carole Coode. Mrs. Coode writes…"Lovely balanced outline, super neck and forehand, one of the best today, good spring of rib, strong loin, nice rear quarters, good bone and feet… throws super pups of really nice type…." Gracie is a grandmother and great grandmother many times over. She has now passed and we want to thank our good friends Barb and Joe for the wonderful life she led with them and the great care she recieved. We thank Gracie for the wonderful start she gave us and for all the wonderful dogs she has helped produce!
